Medical Doctor – General Practitioner (D4)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above position which is based in Victoria Falls under Parksmed Medical Centre. The incumbent will be reporting to the Fund`s General Manager.

Duties (Responsibilities)
• Conducts consultations, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Provides health advice to patients.
• Observes, assesses, and teaches Clinic Nurses on carrying out procedures.
Updates patient records in the patient’s file.
• Liaises with other medical practitioners, specialists and health service providers regarding to patients’ requirements such as admissions and referrals.
Performs minor procedures within the Clinic.
• Performs medical examinations for local and international purposes.
Participates in health education in conjunction with other health professionals within the Community.
• Researches and keeps up to date with medical developments, treatment and medication.
• In charge of the Medical Centre and Supervision of Junior staff
• Ensures proper disposal of infectious waste at the medical centre.
• Making sure there is adequate protection of inventories from damage or theft by establishing and enforcing clear policies for the medical centre.
• Prepares budget for the Victoria Falls Medical Centre.
• Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures in the medical field.
• Producing daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Qualifications and experience
 Degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degrees (MBChB)
 Registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe
 Valid licence to practice the profession
 Proven experience as a Medical Doctor
 Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Patient Management Systems
 Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach
 Integrity and compassion

Duties (Responsibilities)

  • Receives and checks claims from members.
  • Initiates claims process,
  • Captures data for members,
  • Adds on and subtracts members when need arises,
  • Ensures that the requisite forms are filled for claims and reviews for completeness,
  • Prepares documents for contracts,
  • Transactions or regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Certificate/Diploma in Administration/HR or equivalent qualification
  • 5 O` Levels including Mathematics and English language
  • A minimum of two years relevant experience
  • Interpersonal relations and patience
  • Good analytical skill
  • Computer literacy

BOOKKEEPER/ADMINISTRATION (C2)

Duties (Responsibilities)

  1. Reception
    • Welcome and Assist patients as the visit the Medical Centre
    • Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate person and office
    • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
    • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material
    • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
    • Update calendars and schedule meetings
    • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying etc
  1. Administration
  • Maintains the Asset register,
  • Updates assets inventory lists,
  • Compiles assets returns,
  • Receives reports on faulty issues like communication system -telephone or internet, all electrical, plumbing, water reticulation, safes, door locks etc.
  1. Accounting 
  • Posts journals and ensures that transactions are correctly coded
  • Posts cheques and checks cash inflows and outflows to ascertain adequacy of funds and avoid overspending,
  • Posts electronic or manual bank statements into the system
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets and financial statements for the Medical Centre
  • Ensures that correct tax documents and information are submitted to the tax authorities
  • Captures all transactions in bank statements, creditors and debtors though receipting, banking and payment

Qualifications and experience

  • 5 O’ levels including English and Mathematics/ Accounts
  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach

  • Monitor patient health and records
  • Sign administered medication and treatment
  • Perform Diagnostic tests
  • Listen to patients and analyze their physical and emotional needs
  • Provide counseling and health care education to patients
  • Coordinate care with other health care providers and specialists
  • Providing maternal child health services
  • Follow-up of patient test results and communication with patients where appropriate.
  • Develop daily and month reports
  • Reports and update to the Doctor in charge

Qualifications and experience

  • Diploma in General Nursing or relevant qualification
  • One-year relevant experience
  • A qualification in Midwifery will be an added advantage,
  • Registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe,
  • Valid licence to practice the profession
  • Proven experience
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Patient Management Systems
